Overview
Nestled in Richmond, BC, Tsukiji Japanese Restaurant relies primarily on regular customers and word-of-mouth, so they needed to modernize their approach to reach a broader clientele. Their existing website was outdated, unappealing, and lacked accurate information, hindering their ability to attract new patrons and communicate their culinary excellence effectively. The restaurant was in need of a brand new website to better represent their wholesome story and improve their online presence.
Results
I refreshed Tsukiji's logo and developed a brand style sheet for the website. Leading the creative direction, I planned the photoshoot alongside a photographer to capture stunning images of their specialties, including sashimi, aburi, wagyu, sake, and more. These images were strategically incorporated into the website to enhance visual appeal and showcase their offerings. Additionally, I organized the information architecture to effectively communicate their story and create a better user experience. The end result is a dynamically designed website with captivating scroll animations that elevates the restaurant's brand, leaving a lasting impression.

The Photoshoot
This photoshoot was intended to capture shots for the website, as well as for social media content. While working alongside the photographer, I created a photography mood board with style references and details of the different sets and shots needed. The photoshoot included a large range of sashimi, nigiri, wagyu, sake, the restaurant interior and exterior, and more. Below are some of the photos from the shoot. Photography by Shawn Xu
